Penny has the best job in the world: the thrift-shop back room. Just her, a conveyor
belt of donations, and the quiet joy of putting things where they belong.
If only the customers would stop needing things. Hire staff to keep them away from you β
but staff cost money, money needs sales, and sales need the stock you're sorting.
When the service bell ringsβ¦ that's for you, Penny. π

π§Ί Sort donations into the matching bins β points, streaks, and shelf stock.
π The back room recharges Penny. The shop floor drains her. Talking to customers? Big drain.
β You can help customers before they melt down β stand close and hold E. A calm chat is quick and cheap. Sometimes they even figure it out themselves.
π If nobody helps in time, the bell rings β rescuing a frustrated customer costs extra. Ignore the bell and they storm off, trashing your β₯ reputation.
π§ Hire staff at night so you never have to go out there. They need wages β and shelves need stock.
π Battery at 0 = burnout. Hearts at 0 = the shop closes. Either way, game over.
π There is a cat available for purchase. This is important.

The loop: sort donations β shelves fill β customers buy β money β hire staff β
staff absorb the talking β you sort in peace. In theory.
Customers β: help them early β stand near and hold E β
a calm chat is quick and cheap. Gamble on ignoring them: full shelves mean some
figure it out alone⦠the rest ring the bell.
Bell rings (π) when a customer snaps: rescuing them now costs more battery
and time. Ignoring them = they storm out (ββ₯, and other customers get grumpier).
Streaks: 6 correct sorts in a row = Γ2 points, 12 = Γ3. Wrong bin resets it. Clutter: 7+ unsorted items makes the back room stressful (half recharge). Leftovers: unsorted items at closing time = a restless night (less recharge). Chatty Regulars πΌ appear from day 4. They are very nice. They take forever. Reputation β₯: happy service raises it, storm-outs crater it. High rep = more
customers. Yes, doing well makes life worse. Penny knows.
